The heart of the proposals will deliver:

A new station entrance and ticket hall facility off the Station Roundabout, which will provide fully accessible facilities for pedestrians and cyclists and an improved connection to the town centre, and bus station
A remodeled gate line with more room to circulate through the space, allowing better segregation for those that need to move through the station at speed or alternatively dwell for longer perhaps to meet friends, buy tickets, seek information or assistance
A new station vehicle forecourt will be created off Redstone Hill, providing drop off areas, blue badge parking spaces, taxi rank and additional rail car parking spaces, mitigating those moved from Princess Way
A new covered colonnade walkway links the station to the pedestrian crossing and bus station
New ticket gates at the Redstone Hill entrance
The retention of existing ticket counters
Provision of additional self-service ticket machines
Improved customer information
More retail space
A new secure internal cycle parking hub, and an increase in cycle parking facilities of over 20% across the whole site

Updated plans on Site B (Redstone Hill)

These changes are significant, including an enlarged open plaza area on the approach to the station entrance, cylceway access to the cycle parking, a new shared pedestrian path and cycleway, and new proposed trees and planting to reflect the green edge around Redstone Hill. All of these new and reviewed features contribute to an enhanced space at Redstone Hill.
